Overview

I am Yvonne Sloan, founder and trainer at The Collie Whisperer.

I am qualified with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and a member of the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter, with over 30 years’ experience working with rescue dogs.

I work with all breeds and specialise in Border Collies, offering support with helping you find the right dog for your family and circumstances, puppy development, rescue dogs, everyday life skills, recall, reactivity, anxiety, car chasing, noise sensitivity and other Collie typical issues.

i am further trained, and experienced in working with canine body language, learning and motivation, aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, and working with stress and trauma. I use kind, force free methods, with a focus on understanding each dog’s individual needs and supporting the person beside them.

Based in the Scottish Highlands, I offer local sessions and online training and behaviour support internationally, with the majority of my clients based in Canada, the USA and Australia.

I love what I do, and seeing dogs grow in confidence and their owners enjoy life with them is the most rewarding part of my work.
