**Sharon West – IMDTB Accredited Behaviourist & IMDT Accredited Trainer**

My passion has always been to help dogs and the people who love them. I believe that every dog is communicating through their behaviour, and my role is to understand why that behaviour is happening and to help owners create lasting, positive change using kind, ethical and science-based methods.

I am proud to be an IMDTB Accredited Behaviourist and IMDT Accredited Trainer, providing professional behaviour consultations and training throughout Northern Ireland. I work with dogs of all ages and breeds, from puppies needing the best possible start in life to adult dogs experiencing behavioural challenges such as reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression, resource guarding, separation-related behaviours and difficulties in the home.

Behaviour problems rarely have a simple cause. My approach looks at the whole dog, considering their physical health, emotional wellbeing, learning history, environment and breed-specific behavioural needs. Where appropriate, I work closely with veterinary surgeons to ensure that any underlying medical conditions contributing to behaviour are identified and addressed.

As the owner of **For the Love of the Dogs**, I combine behaviour consultations with practical training and enrichment, helping owners understand not just *what* to do, but *why* it works. My aim is always to build confidence in both dogs and their families, creating realistic, achievable training plans that fit into everyday life.

Clients often tell me that one of my greatest strengths is my ability to explain complex behaviour in a way that is easy to understand. I know how overwhelming living with a struggling dog can feel, and I pride myself on providing ongoing support, compassion and honest guidance throughout the journey.
