IMDT PRACTICAL SKILLS COURSE – REINFORCEMENT STRATEGIES
Build your practical skills by diving deep into the world of reinforcement.
What does the science tell us? How do we transfer the theory into practical training applications? How do we create effective reinforcement strategies to achieve long term behaviour and training success?
Get started with four comprehensive video lectures, with plenty of video analysis and case studies, for practical training in the real world.
The four lecture topics are:
- Video One: Event markers, timing and mechanical skills
- Video Two: Types of reinforcers
- Video Three: Reinforcement delivery
- Video Four: Reinforcement and arousal
Once you have mastered the theory of reinforcement strategies via the comprehensive video lectures, it is time to get training!
Each of the four lecture videos requires students to complete practical training tasks – through the Reinforcement Strategies assignment. The assignment includes four short answer sections and four video submissions
Students will enjoy access to individual feedback, comprehensive guidance and support from out IMDT Tutors.
Students will require access to a dog for their practical training assessments and will be required to capture and submit video of their training sessions.
Students will submit their assignment (and attached video links) to our IMDT Tutors. Once a student has shown competent practical training skills, they will receive their ‘Practical Skills: Reinforcement Strategies’ certificate of completion
Students should allow approximately 6 hours of learning time to complete this course – this includes watching the video lectures, practicing their training skills and completing their assignment document.
This course is worth 6 hours of CPD for IMDT Members.
