Having been brought up with working gun dogs, Labradors and Springer Spaniels, I learnt to love and respect dogs from a very young age. They taught me so much about empathy, respect, friendship, unconditional love, kindness and, very sadly, the painful experience of grief.
They taught me how to communicate through body language which really helped when I worked with young people with a variety of learning difficulties. My own children and grandchildren have also picked up the valuable lessons that dogs have taught them.
When I came across the opportunity to raise puppies for Canine Partners I jumped at the chance, this led me on my own dog training learning experience that culminated in becoming an Accredited Trainer with IMDT. I raised a Guide Dog puppy after the Canine Puppy passed his training and am waiting to hear of his partnership.
Since he left us I have opened my own dog food and supplies shop where I am passionate about suppling only natural, healthy products and no aversive or unsafe products. Our own pet Labrador is chief tester and is loving life!
